    Very good

    Location.

Very low ceilings. Booked.net stated money towards dinner but this was not the case and did not find out until departure.

    Superb

Excellent service. Pleasant, accommodating staff. Gave us an upgrade without us requesting it! Children loved the garden games and trees to climb. A Lovely stay!

    Exceptional

Very attentive, responsive, young staff. Hotel tranquillity/setting. Flexible approach to dining. Beautiful breakfast and restaurant ambience/outlook. Food presentation & taste.

Hot water is dangerously hot if you have youngsters. Bathroom style/decor was a little tired.

    good food, well trained staff.

We were unable to sleep owing to the worn out mattress. We advised reception on departure.

    Fabulous

Very pleasant, welcomingand helpful staff. We travelled with our 6 year old daughter and were not made to feel awkward in any way which can sometimes happen when travelling with a child. Had dinner in the resturant one night, good service and food. They had a childrens menu but said that any meal from the menu could be prepared as a smaller portion. Breakfast was excellent - best i've ever had in a hotel! Facilities were good, pool excellent. Lovely setting. Our room was very large, plenty of room. Hotel had a lounge area with games and tv. Grounds were nice. Good location.

Cleaning not great - bin not emptied and room not cleaned properly from previous guest. Shower / plumbing were a bit erratic although it is an old building. Parking was very difficult. No reseved space for hotel guests and we were concerned that after an evening out we would not get parked - receptionist kindly said she would move her car for us. The path from the lower car park is not lit. Although there were three of us we were only given towels and cups / glasses for two. More were provided when requested. The hotel still has smoking rooms, which oddly seem to be the larger rooms which they then use as family rooms. There was a strong smell of cigarette smoke in the corridor to our room and the area by our door, although the room itself was ok. There was a lack of storage space in the room. Wardrobe a good size but not enough drawers.

    Superb

The Receptionist on duty during our stay (Sunday 2nd October) was excellent. Regrettably I didn't get her name but I have stayed in the very best hotels worldwide and I have to tell you that girl was superb. Nothing was too much trouble, she listened, she made time for us, and always with a smile and with courtesy. Give her a big pay rise because she deserves it.Her service is the only reason for taking the time to answer your questionnaire.

Not your fault but the weather was freakishly hot and our room was uncomfortablt warm. Not worth installing air conditioning!

    Very good

lovely restaurant and breakfast, pretty setting, friendly helpful staff

Coffee could be stronger although when we asked for it to be stronger and not already plunged this was done! There is never enough space to hang wet towels in hotel bathrooms no serious problems really

    Good

The staff were very helpful. It was well situated to get to various places of interest. The breakfast was good. The evening meal was fine, but just a little over priced. The upgraded room was a good size. Pity it did not have a mini fridge.

That it was impossible to get spa treatments even though I phoned a week prior to arrival. Had I known that in advance I would not have booked a weekend stay for me and my partner. When we did get a cancelation for spa treatment, the man on the phone arranged for 2.pm Saturday, but the lady expected us at 2 pm on Friday! This we never knew until it was too late! So poor communication. Just too expensive when considering condition of hotel which looked a little shabby and run down to say the least. Driveway was full of puddles!
